Disneyland Paris is full of magic for the whole family, but not all attractions are suitable for the little ones.
Some can be too intense, dark or noisy, even for brave children.
Here’s a list of attractions you should avoid if traveling with young children, and some gentler alternatives to enjoy without scares.
🎢 Big Thunder Mountain (Frontierland)
Although it doesn’t have loops, it’s a fast roller coaster with sharp turns and dark areas.
It tends to scare the youngest, especially in the tunnels.

Alternative: Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing or Casey Jr. – Le Petit Train du Cirque.

👻 Phantom Manor (Frontierland)
Its dark atmosphere, sound effects and ghostly apparitions can impress children too much.

Alternative: It’s a Small World, with its cheerful tone and relaxing music.
🌀 Star Tours: The Adventures Continue (Discoveryland)
Space simulator with strong movements and 3D effects. Can make even adults dizzy.
Alternative: Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, fun and without scares.
🚀 Hyperspace Mountain (Discoveryland)
Roller coaster in the dark with inversions, intense music and high speed. Not recommended for children under 7 years old.

Alternative: Orbitron or Autopia, much gentler and with space theme.
🐍 Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril (Adventureland)
One of the park’s most intense roller coasters, with a loop and abrupt stops.
Alternative: Explore Adventure Isle or enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean (if children don’t fear the dark).
💥 Avengers Assemble: Flight Force (Walt Disney Studios Park)
Completely dark attraction and very fast, with superhero projections.
Although it has great theming, the movements are too strong for the youngest.

Alternative: Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure, interactive and family-friendly.
🏎️ RC Racer (Toy Story Playland)
Half-pipe type attraction where the car goes up and down at high speed. The free fall sensation can be very intense.
Alternative: Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin, fun and perfect for the little ones.
🔥 Crush’s Coaster (Walt Disney Studios Park)
Despite its childish appearance (from Finding Nemo), it’s a spinning roller coaster with dark areas.
Many parents think it’s calm… until the ride starts.
Alternative: Cars Road Trip, a smooth ride with good effects.
🧟♂️ The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (Walt Disney Studios Park)
The free falls and terror theming make it one of Disneyland Paris’s most intense attractions.
Not recommended for young children or those who fear scares.

Alternative: Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, fun and safe for all ages.
🎠 In summary
Disneyland Paris has options for all ages, but some attractions can be too strong for the youngest.
